There are 2 things I just can't get enough of.
1. Pumpkins
2. My niece, Reagan
Yesterday, we went to the pumpkin patch. This was like a dream to me. I swear, if I could make a living photographing this kid, I would.
I'm going to add more pictures to my other blog, The Optimistic Lobster. Stay tuned.

For Justin
Last week, my nephew, Justin, passed away. He was such a good kid - funny, charismatic, handsome, but given a set of really crappy circumstances. If anyone deserved better, it was Justin.
His tragic death is a reminder to tell people that you love them, because you'll never know when they aren't there.
Justin, I so desperately hope that you found the peace you deserve. I love you and we will miss your jokes, your laughter, and your light in our lives.

Wilco
I went to see Wilco last week with my friend Michael. We started the night at Tantric for Indian food, then headed to the Wang Theater. It was a rare situation where I didn't know many of the songs but it was awesome. They put on an awesome show. They might be "dad rock" but they were totally rocking in Boston.

In the last 2 weeks...
In the last few weeks, I've seen a lot of these tracks
Messied my desk at work, and learned how to use my work Mac
Spent a lot of time in the halls of Bunker Hill Community College and much more time than I'd like at TGI Fridays.
Nope, I don't have a social life, but I'm definitely not idle either.....

Dear Irene,
Bring it. I'm ready for you.
On a side note, is it bad that I bought religious candles only because they were cheap and unscented? And that they kinda creep me out a little?

Destruction and Mayhem
Went to the Marshfield Fair today. Attended my first demolition derby where I saw a lot of this:
And saw this guy dancing. I wish we all could be this carefree and confident....or he just drunk?
Pet a baby goat, ate a fried oreo, and bought some homemade blueberry jam. Ever have one of those days when you realize that it's the little things that really make you happy?

EARTHQUAKE!!!
I'm not sure if you know this, but yesterday, there was an earthquake on the east coast. I woke up with a cold yesterday so I was laying in bed and felt the earth start to move. My clothes in the closet were moving, the doors on the wardrobe were moving......Since I've lived through them before, I knew it was an earthquake but couldn't figure out where or why. Of course, turned to the news and they had information about the 5.9 earthquake near Richmond. My thoughts immediately turned to my close friends who live in DC. I knew my parents would be ok.
The most amazing thing to me is the lack of injury and destruction. Buildings on the east coast are not built to withstand earthquakes, yet there was minimal destruction and no serious injuries. In contrast, a 7.0 earthquake in Haiti caused complete devastation. How lucky are we to live in a country where even the places that are unprepared for an earthquake have minimal damage.

Beginnings
"My brain is a wild jungle full of scary gibberish. I'm writing a letter, I can't write a letter, why can't I write a letter? I'm wearing a green dress, I wish I was wearing my blue dress, my blue dress is at the cleaners. The Germans wore gray, you wore blue, 'Casablanca' is such a good movie. Casablanca, the White House, Bush. Why don't I drive a hybrid car? I should really drive a hybrid car. I should really take my bicycle to work. Bicycle, unicycle, unitard. Hockey puck, rattlesnake, monkey, monkey, underpants!"
